WICKED FENCE

The fence is an iron gate that blocks the entrance of a drainage tunnel in Harper's Ferry, WV. The other side of the pipe is a straight 40 foot drop into the Potomac River. I was always happy with the original photo, which was a B&W. In the photo behind the fence is black with the exception of a small hole of light. Kind of boring. I like to see my photographs as rough sketches. It's very hard to get that perfect picture. So if you realize this, the photo can be quickly taken and not pondered on for minutes and hours. I gave the fence a splatter effect on the edges after dropping most of the steel look. For the background anything could have worked. At the time I was seeing blue so it fit for me.
