The Third Testament
With one man's insecurities in his faith, a new light is shed on exactly who our god is. In a violent prayer turned rant, Father Coren denounces his religion based on God's neglect towards himself and the world. This provokes God to speak. He writes the Third Testament. A book giving directions to where he lives, how to get there, and a time limit to do it.
A religious summit is held and then the United Nations is brought into the story. The world decides to back the project and construction is began on the ship. Next the crew is selected. A representative from each religion, representatives from the United Nations, a few Navy Seals to ensure peace, and cinema-photographer Lars Hanson.
They cross the universe to meet this elder man, preparing to die. He wants to say goodbye and decide whether or not we should prosper after his death. God shuns most of the religious reps for misconstruing life. He spends most of his time and confides everything to his new found friend Lars.
The government reps feel God is hostile and a threat to our existence. They initiate an assassination with the Navy Seals. It is up to Lars to talk God out of destroying the world, help him cope with a nervous break-down, stop the Navy Seals, and create a Pulitzer prize winning film.
Everything was ready to work itself out, but no one could comprehend
Father Coren's hate for God. Especially after being shunned. He takes matters into his own hands and delivers the justice he feels necessary.
Now our society will weigh the consequences of his actions.
THE STORY WAS INSPIRED BY MY MANY SOLUTIONS TO GOD'S IDENTITY. WHAT IF OUR RELIGIONS WERE WRONG?
WHAT IF THERE ARE CIRCUMSTANCES WE ARE NOT READY FOR? OR WHAT IF GOD DOES EXIST AND NEEDS TO SPEAK AGAIN.
